IDAC Flyer

October 20-24 is Character Counts Week at Mountain View!

Character Counts Week Flyer
Character Counts week is quickly approaching, and our Student Council has been working hard to create fun incentives, activities, and dress-up days. We will have both individual and classroom incentives as well as "Character Counts Shout Outs" that will be shared each day on morning announcements highlighting spectacular character seen throughout our campus.

We will have character counts raffles as well as daily "Dress-Up Counts" similar to our Bear Wear tracking that we do every Friday. The class with the highest combined percentage of students dressed up in the daily themes will earn extra recess and a special treat!

Along with these incentives, teachers have been provided links to daily Character Counts lessons as a way to focus students on what the real meaning of this week is, student character!

Thank you to Mrs. Chavez and Ms. Lassley for guiding our Student Council members and making next week a fun way to recognize great character Mountain View!

Reminder for those who signed up - your primary cheer clinic is this Wednesday (10/22) from 3:00 to 4:30 after school!

Thank you to all of our upper grade cheerleaders and to Ms. Seabury and our other coaches for putting this together for our kids!

MV Carnival Is This Friday!!!

This Friday is the big day! We're looking forward to seeing our Golden Bear Families come out to share in the fun of the Mountain View Fall Carnival. Thank you to all who have contributed to the classroom baskets and those planning on helping out with donations of drinks and store-bought baked goods for the day of the event.
We're looking forward to seeing all of you here on the 24th - there will be games, awesome food trucks, bounce houses, a cake walk, silent auction, and DUNK TANK! That was a big hit last year, and we found out how accurate our students can throw when the PRINCIPAL is in the tank! Up for bid on the silent auction this year along with the awesome classroom baskets will be things like lunch with teachers, pizza with the principal, ice cream parties with staff, front row seats for concerts and drama productions, and the principal's parking spot - that's right - you win it, you get it for the year...every day, any time - it's your spot if you outbid the others!

CSI - Here for the Social/Emotional Development of Our Students

One of the ways we help students navigate growing up is through our Clovis Support Initiative (CSI) groups. Using a scripted, curriculum-based program, trained staff meet with small groups over the course of several weeks to improve how students communicate and build positive interactions and relationships at school.
