Utilization of parent input is offered through a number of forums including site and community booster organization groups to ensure a diverse representation. These groups allow for on-going dialogue to take place between school staff and parents. These groups include all of the following below.
Parent Teacher Club
What is Parent Teacher Club?
The Parent Teacher Club is a non-profit organization of parents, guardians, teachers, students, and staff at our school site. Our mission is to plan community events to raise money to support the programs and educational experience that sets our school apart from the rest.
What does membership entail?
Membership is a great way to ensure future quality academic and co-curricular programs. Your membership requires no commitment of time or meeting attendance. We encourage you to take an active role in the education of our rising generation by joining the PTC!

S.A.R.T. - School Assessment and Review Team
School Assessment and Review Team (SART): meets monthly during the school year to assess and review effectiveness of policies, procedures, programs and curriculum/textbook adoption, which are in place or proposed at Mountain View Elementary. In March, CUSD conducts the annual SART Survey. This survey solicits parent opinion on curricular, co-curricular, technology, and other issues facing the district. SART is the only body entitled to process these surveys; the compiled results are shared with the community.

School Site Council
The School Site Council (SSC) is a community group that participates in school-based program coordination. Its' members represent parents, community memebers, teachers, and other school staff to recommend and provide input into the Single Plan for Student Acheivement (SPSA), review student achievement data, consult with parent groups, and recommend school safety plan. The SSC is important because it is a legally required group by California law, and it provides a voice for parents, community members and school staff members in improving student achievement.
Members attend the quarterly SSC meetings, provide input for student achievement, safety, and the expenditure of categorical funds, and participate in annual elections.
In addition, one member will represent Mountain View at the quarterly District Advisory Committee meetings. This representative will then relay information from the DAC to our SSC members at our school SSC meetings.
