Between Character Counts Week, the Fall Carnival, and Red Ribbon Week, it has been a busy, fun-filled couple of weeks. We are so grateful to our PTC for putting together an amazing night at the Carnival last Friday, and to our student leadership and their coordinators, Ms. Lassley and Mrs. Chavez, for their work on our special events and dress-up days for the kids. You'd think we'd slow it down after all that, but there's so much more to get to - don't miss out on all the new excitement happening at Mountain View - there's always something happening around here!

Each quarter, we try to have something exciting as a payoff for our students who have demonstrated outstanding character throughout the previous grading period. We celebrated our first quarter with a high-flying BMX bike show that pumped up the kids and provided a positive message. Students were encouraged by the BMX team to Be Motivated, Respect Themselves and Others, and to Never Give Up. Those are great points for our students and goes right along with all the character development we try to build throughout the year! Special thanks to Mr. Snively who was on the platform for the "high jump" demonstration and to the 7 or 8 staff members who watched the tires fly over them during the "long jump"!

Our MV Instagram has been sizzling this year, thanks to Ms. Seabury's amazing efforts to post with fun and meaningful info. Follow our school account @ mv_bears and jump onto our PTC's account @ mountainviewptc to stay up on all the events that are in the works for our Golden Bears!

Discussion will center on the schoolwide system of behavior development and tracking now being implemented at Mountain View.

One of the ways we help students navigate growing up is through our Clovis Support Initiative (CSI) groups. Using a scripted, curriculum-based program, trained staff meet with small groups over the course of several weeks to improve how students communicate and build positive interactions and relationships at school.
